How to Give a Talk When You Don't Really Want to - Tips and Techniques to Improve Your Public Speaking
After a long time telling myself I was going to finish this book, over the weekend I finally finished it. Amazon approved and listed it around midnight.
Because I want to reward those of you who've stuck with me throughout the past couple of years, I have also published it to Gumroad, priced the same at just $2.99. So, if you prefer a DRM-free option, it will remain available for about a week before I give Amazon a 90-day exclusive.Buy DRM-free on Gumroad for $2.99Buy on Amazon for $2.99
What is it?
The book is a collection of tips and tricks about public speaking and presentations I have accumulated over the past 20 years or so. Most of them come from me doing the wrong thing and learning painful lessons as a result. If you are sensing a pattern, you are correct. My other book on communications, Don't Say That at Work, is also written about my own mistakes. I seem to have made a lot of them through the years. As they say, "Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment."
Though written specifically for the novice who has never had to give a talk or a presentation, even seasoned pros should find some actionable advice in it. Even better, it's not a long book. You should be able to finish it in less than an hour. My goal was to make it heavy on content and light on fluff.
