TL;DR: I’m creating an Ionic-React course for Pluralsight, experimenting with a continuous glucose monitor, tweaking developer-tester workflows at work, and still writing the next Agilefall chapter. Plus, a reminder about my books!

Life’s been a whirlwind lately, so let’s dive in. I recently started using a Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitor to track my blood sugar—yep, I’m that curious about my health. As someone borderline type-2 diabetic, I’m watching my carbs and aiming to shed a few pounds. My doctor prescribed a three-month supply (covered by insurance, score!), and I’ve been testing it since Sunday. Applying the device to my arm was quick, with a spring-loaded applicator that felt like a laundry detergent cap. A brief sting faded fast, and now I barely notice it.

Three days in, I’m learning what spikes my glucose. A Chick-fil-A Market Salad? Barely a blip. A small bag of Doritos? Yikes, instant spike. Oddly, my glucose rises while I sleep—who knew? I’m excited to keep experimenting and share more insights.

On the work front, I just signed with Pluralsight to create an intro-level Ionic-React video course, due by August’s end. The course will teach Ionic UI components through a fun demo app called “EndsWell,” where users rate TV series endings (no spoilers, promise!). I’m building the app now, and it’s shaping up to let users add shows and share their ratings. Stay tuned for updates!

At my day job, we’ve revamped how developers and testers collaborate, leaning heavily on Jira. It’s a game-changer, and I’m hoping to distill the details into a future Agilefall chapter. It’s niche, so I’m figuring out how to make it relatable for teams not using Jira.

Speaking of Agilefall, I know some of you are eager for the next chapter. It’s in progress, and I’m weaving in some of these workplace insights. Thanks for your patience—I’m getting there!
